Hello! I dont know if this is the right forum to ask in bu I'll give it a try.
I'm currently a automation student and I'm constructing a process with solenoid valves. I want to control them via PLC and I also want feedback to PLC from wich state the valve is in. So my mentor says there are two cables running to a solenoid valve, one with +24v and 0V for controlling the valve, and one cable with 4 conductors for feedback to the PC which tells what state the valve is in (open; +24v and 0v or closed; +24v and 0v ). The problem is that I cant find anything when I google for this kind of valve.
How have this worked out?
A datasheet for the valve is useful, but if this can not be found you could measure the resistance between 24V and 0V feedback conductors. Probably they are connected to switches that are open or closed depending on the state of the solenoid valve. In this case you need to supply 24V on one conductor, the other conductor will change from 0 to 24V when the switch closes (solenoid opens or closes). The conductor with 0 and 24V will be the signal to the PLC.
