At first I thank Hegamurl for his great video tutorials.
I am doing my first safety program with TIA Portal and S7-1200F PLC. At the moment I do not have any physical PLC and my simulation do not work with my fail safe application.
I have searched information about F-DI SM1226 (16 input) module configuration, but still I do not have a clear view about the issue; is it possible to use the all 16 channels separately. Let's say I have SIL 1 and do not need double channels. So can I wire one sensor to e.g. input 0 and just a different device to channel 8 and the inputs works separately? Is it configured with 1001 evaluation and still keeping the both channels marked "active"?
Thank you Pascal for your response! I finally got a fail safe hardware to my hands and it really seems to be just as you mentioned. When using 1001, the channels work separately also in F-DI SM1226 module. :)
Hi John,
since I never used the F-DI SM1226 nor the 1200 in Safety Applications you have to take my answer here with a grain of salt.
But I have a ET200SP with F-DI 8x24DC HF and I do exactly what you said with those. I use the Inputs to 1oo1 eval. and used the two input of one channel for different things.
Now note the HF in the devices name, which stands for High Feature. But nevertheless, I think if you can change the inputs to 1oo1 that also lets you use the second input of one channel separately.
